How To Turn On Automatic Login On Mac

Around 5-6 months back, when OS X Yosemite was released for public download, I immediately upgraded my Macbook from Mavericks to Yosemite. Since then, every time I turn on my Mac, it asks for a password (though it was set up unintentionally, reason unknown to me at that time). User Login feature is not at all necessary when no one is around you or you are the only person to access your Mac and same was the case for me. In order to Turn On Automatic Login On Mac, I was guided to head over to System Prefernces-> Security & Privacy-> General->Disable Automatic Login. But to my surprise, Disable Automatic Login Checkbox was not there (See the screenshot below).

Later, I tried going down to 2nd lane and headed over to System Preferences-> Users & Groups-> Login Options. Pressed the lock button, entered my password and tried to turn on Automatic Login dropbox. Unluckily, that was too greyed out (See the Screenshot below).

Firstly, the reason why upgrading to Yosemite turned on the password protection was while upgrading I turned on the FireVault. Apple isn’t going to tell you to disable a security feature to enable a convenience feature. So, in order to Enable Automatic Login on Yosemite, we need to turn off the FireVault.
Step 1: Head over to System Preferences and then Security & Privacy.
Step 2: Tap the FireVault tab, click the Lock to make changes, enter the Login Password and unlock it.
