Sony Xperia XZ Space & Pictures

The Sony Xperia XZ is the best of Sony in the mobile phone: the new flagship comes with the increase in the form of an evolved design, the usual water-proofing capability, improved camera and focus on maintain battery health in the long run.

We have just gotten the Xperia XZ in the office undergo the rigorous testing required for a full review, but before that, we decided to unbox the phone itself and share some of the first hands-on impressions.

The first thing is more about the XZ design: while it still took a sharp rectangle, sides now curved in what Sony calls a new 'loop' design, so it is definitely the most boring hold. At the same time, the XZ remained fairly overweight for 5.2 "size, as it tips the scales at 161 grams and measures 8.1mm variable (it felt a bit on the boring side for flat back that does not have a curvature) .

New and elegant, the Xperia XZ features a new 23MP camera

Under the hood, the Sony Xperia XZ features top-shelf Snapdragon 820 system chip, as most flagships in 2016. There 3GB of RAM on board, as well as, the base version of the handset has 32GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD cards.

Finally, a change has occurred in the camera department, where Sony uses a conventional 23-megapixel sensor with 5-axis stabilization software that seems to provide extremely smooth video there and laser auto-focus speeds up the focus.

Here's what's included in the box with the Sony Xperia XZ:

5V, 1.5A (7.5-watt) wall charger

USB-C cable

User manual
