How to use Secret Conversations on Facebook Messenger

Facebook has now rolled out Secrect Coversations Messenger users should use encryption. Here's how to change it.




If you use Facebook Messenger, which you probably do, then you will want to use the new interactive features messages that uses encryption. Here's how to use the Secret Talks on Facebook Messenger. See: 15 Facebook tips and tricks.

Facebook for rolling out Secret Talks to all 900 million Messenger on a few weeks ago. The feature allows users to encrypt messages so that they can read (in the negotiations), or Facebook or law enforcement can read them. It is available on iOS and Android.



How to send secret messages on Facebook Messenger

•    Update the Facebook Messenger app if you don't have the most recent version
•    Tap the 'i' icon in the top-right of the screen
•    Select Secret Conversation from the list
•    Choose 'Turn On'

It's pretty easy and so it should be. Another thing to note is that once it is switched on, the device you use will be the only one which you can use to send and receive the messages. You need to turn it to any specific negotiations rather than a global setting for all Facebook Messenger. Secret talks with the padlock icon and the person's profile picture.

The feature also allows senders to send messages Snapchat-style protection periods ranging from five seconds to one day.
